The RCN Valencia is already living intensely the 29er World Championship. An appointment that started yesterday with the first of the three days of measurement planned, concluding next Sunday, August 31, with the celebration of the last day of the final series.

193 boats from 24 countries have arrived in the capital of the Turia: Germany, Italy, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Holland, Poland, Switzerland, Hungary, Ireland, Sweden, United States, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Virgin Islands, Malta, Norway and Spain, which will be represented by 21 boats: 11 RCN Valencia; 4 from RCN Gran Canaria and RCN Palma; 1 from RCN Calpe and CN Sant Antoni de Portmany.

Germany and Italy are the two countries, together with Spain, that will have the largest representation in this World Championship, with 26 and 22 boats respectively. Denmark, meanwhile, is another of the strong countries that have landed in Valencia, with 17 boats, while France with 14 and Great Britain and Holland with 12, are other delegations with weight.

But not by quantity are special, or with more options, since the generational change and with the arrival of new knew in almost all countries, after its passage through the Optimist, makes it a real unknown to configure a hypothetical podium and who can be at the top of these final series to be held from Sunday 29. In this line, in national and local key, highlights Quicorras Urios and Filippo Benetti (RCNV) who reach their last regatta in 29er, counting with options to be in the top next Tuesday 31. Both have shown a high level in the Coach Regatta held between 17 and 20 August in Valencian waters in which they achieved the final triumph.

Yes we can highlight, in this new batch of 29er sailors and in the absence of being able to know the true level of the fleet due to the cancellation of international regattas, such as the EuroCup circuit, by the health situation of the Covid19 in this past 2020 and some of 2021, some countries that aims to be the favorites or with clear options to be in the drawer, such as the United States, France, Denmark or Czech Republic, but without forgetting the Spanish, both local and international.

After yesterday, the first day of measurement, and after the conclusion of the following two days: Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th, the fleet faces six days of competition with a maximum of three races per day. The fleet will be divided into 6 groups spread over 3 race courses, so the show can be lived and enjoyed from Pinedo to El Saler.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 25, the fleet will have the official training regatta, with the starting top scheduled for 14.00 hours. The official opening ceremony of the 'Zhik 29er World Championships' is scheduled for 19.00 hours, starting the next morning with the races that will determine the final podium, both in absolute and SUB17 categories.

The RCN Valencia faces with great enthusiasm this World Championship, so it has spared no effort in all the organizational part, making a special section in terms of health measures with a specific plan of monitoring and control, both sailors, coaches and technical staff, complemented by the regulations established by the Generalitat Valenciana, Valencia City Council and the own that have the various federations, both international, national and regional level.
