The resurgent Scorpion Class Association continues to go from strength to strength with a major increase in numbers already entered the 2021 Nationals in Penzance. This new support from Craftinsure the leading on-line boat insurer builds on the momentum the class had already built and positions the Scorps for a fantastic season, as we all emerge from lockdown.

Craftinsure have entered into a multi-year deal with the class that involves great premiums on all Scorpions and healthy financial help for the Class Association, so they can build even greater events over future years.

There are insurers who claim to have staff who have an interest in sailing, but Craftinsure is a bit different - the co-founders of Craftinsure actually met at a Scorpion Open Meeting! It was 30 years ago, but that connection means the team at Craftinsure know many Scorp sailors past and present.

Both Rob and Mark from Craftinsure had signed up to the 2020, 60th year celebration, Scorpion Nationals, and there was even talk Rob had found his old boat from the 80s in which to race, with the current owner kindly agreeing to loan it. Mark bought a great boat and has already competed in the Inlands last weekend, he is getting some practice in for the Nationals.

With that sort of connection with the class it was the least Craftinsure could do to come on-board and support what is clearly a very dynamic Class Association.

We can't promise to worry the top of the leaderboard these days, but the Craftinsure guys are really looking forward to being part of this great Class both on and off the water.
