Online Club Marine Emergency Preparedness Course © Marina Industries Association

For all MIA members to access education and training even during the COVID 19 crisis and these social distancing times, MIA has converted our face to face Club Marine Emergency Preparedness Course to also be available online from 25th May 2020.

With enhanced downloadable reference documents, this course will include a combination of self-paced learning and online live session with an industry veteran.

Emergencies occur when you least expect and can catch people off-guard. Are you and your marina staff prepared? What are the legal requirements marinas must abide by in an emergency? Is your emergency management plan complete, up-to-date and tested? Is the necessary emergency equipment on hand and are all staff regularly trained in its use? Do you have all the appropriate documentation and processes in place? Participation in this online course should be part of any marina's risk mitigation strategy.

"Emergency preparedness is the most critical task we need to plan for and commit too in our on water highly environmentally sensitive industry. Fire, sinking vessels and pollution events have the propensity to go from a manageable incident to a very expensive calamity in a very short time frame.

This is why we need to take advantage of such excellent online learning tools so that all of our staff can absorb the importance of time management and pre-planned delivery of the appropriate remedial action minimising risk and impact of the incident.

This course is a must-do online opportunity for all staff not just the dockmaster."

President and Chairman
