RYA Dinghy Show 2020 opens with a bang

The RYA Dinghy Show, in association with Yachts & Yachting, was officially opened today (29 February) by show hosts, two-time Olympic gold medallist Sarah Ayton, rising Laser star Sam Whaley and Olympian Annie Lush. The trio who were also joined by a crowd of eager young visitors to mark the start of the 2020 show.

Members of the British Sailing Team, including the athletes who will be competing in the 2020 Tokyo Games this summer, were also on hand to help declare the show open.

This weekend (29 February- 01 March), Alexandra Palace, London, has transformed into a dinghy sailing paradise and the theme is 'World of opportunity-see where dinghy sailing can take you'.

Sarah Ayton commented: "We're really excited to officially launch the 2020 show - the atmosphere is already fantastic! It always amazes me the range of boats here, all the things you can buy. We've also got a whole line up of brilliant speakers so this weekend, come and escape the rain and enjoy a day out here at the Dinghy Show!"

Whether you come to the show to snap up deals on the latest kit or to check out the hundreds of dinghies, it's even easier to explore everything on offer across the four new zones; shopping and equipment, buy a boat, holidays and training and clubs and classes.

Visitors of all ages will also be able to enjoy family-friendly show favourites including the 360 degrees 'On the Water' VR experience, sailing simulators and the model boat pool.

You'll also find a brand new line up of expert speakers across three stages

If you haven't already got your ticket, don't worry both day and weekend tickets are available to buy on the door. The show is open from 10:00 - 18:00 on Saturday 29 February and 10:00 - 17:00 on Sunday 01 March.

Don't forget up to four children go FREE with each paying adult.
