The 2.4mR Irish National Championships took place in Kinsale Yacht Club, with Irish Sailing President Jack Roy as Race Officer.
This was the second 2.4m Class Nationals in Ireland (first time on the South Coast) and attracted ten entries with half of those coming from the UK.
Although this is a small entry, it's very significant in that the class have great hopes of this becoming an annual event at Kinsale Yacht Club where the facilities and enthusiasm for Sailability Ireland is one of the best in the country.
Kinsale YC recently hosted the successful Watersports Inclusion Games.
The 2.4mR is ideal for adapted sailing since the sailor does not move their body in the boat, which is easily adjustable with both hand-steering and foot-steering possible.
