It just came to an end, on the race course of OneOcean Port Vell, the second day of racing of fourth and last act of the Melges 32 World League 2019: now there’s only Saturday left to discover the name of the 2019 Champion of the series, further than that of the winner of the Catalan event.

The second day of racing, with three races completed, sees as absolute leader the German team of Pericolosa by Christina Schwoerer, with Nic Asher calling tactics: La Pericolosa wins the first two races of the day and gains a second place in the sixth regatta of the series. With these results, La Pericolosa climbs the ranking of the event, gaining the head of the standings with three point of margin on the Italian Giogi by Matteo Balestrero (3-6-4 his partial scores of the day). The day is positive also for the Italians onboard Caipirinha by Martin Reintjes, with Gabriele Benussi calling tactics, who gain the third provisional place of the standings, but, most important, make a further step for the victory of the overall circuit, being the direct opponent, Tavatuy, behind Caipirinha by 2 points.

The races of tomorrow will define the name of the new Melges 32 World League Champion. La Pericolosa is called to defend the head of the event’s standings, while Tavatuy and Giogi will do anything in their possibilities to surpass Caipirinha and be crowned Melges 32 World League Champions. The winner will also be awarded with a speciale prize by La Thuile, partner of the 2019 Melges World League.
