The Headlines:

  • Only the RS:X and Finn fleets race on day two
  • All other fleets remain the same
  • Emma Wilson moves up to fourth with a 2,6 in Women's RS:X
  • Tom Squires up to 11th in Men's RS:X after 2,4,12. Kieran Holmes in 16th

What they said:

Emma Wilson - RS:X Women

"The weather was crazy. When the squalls came in it was torrential rain and 30 knots so it was about surviving and trying to find the marks. Then the wind would drop and became a bit more for normal racing. It was also super wavey and choppy, but the racing was good and I got a sixth in race one and second in race two so I'm pretty happy and had lots of fun."

Tom Squires - RS:X Men

"We had some really big gusts come through in the middle of our races which made it really challenging. I fell off on pretty much every leg. I had an average day in this breeze, it should have been better.

"In the second race I hit some seaweed on the startline and got thrown around the front. Then I had a pretty good comeback before I decided to fall in on the next tack which led to a bigger comeback. I managed to keep my head though."

Racing will run through to the live medal races on the British Sailing Team website and across the team's social media on 31 August and 1 September.

Full results from the event can be found here.
