B14 Worlds Championships at Yacht Club de Carnac - Day 2

25-28 July 2019
Afternoon to all from your roving correspondent with little to report today from a mixed weather Carnac. The good news is that the weather front is now passing through, and breeze will be reducing into the late evening. The bad news is it will be too late for racing.
So another day lost due to the excessive wind and sea state. That means the B14 Worlds will be starting two days late, tomorrow at 1100 hrs. with four 45 minute races. This means there will be much emphasis on the start and may mean the PRO (Jerome) will be busy. What it has meant is that boat bimbling has been done and the sun is now out with the dinghy park getting hotter.
Last night was a quieter one with groups being more restrained in Carnac and less out late at night. Unfortunately there has also been a tummy bug and cold working through some groups, but hopefully come tomorrow, they will all be on the mend and ready to hit the race track.
Moving forward, the forecast is for the breeze to progressively drop, so meaning the heavyweight teams may have missed their chance to express their capabilities, with the breeze forecast to be very light on Friday, but with a little luck we may get 3 days of sailing in. Not ideal, but that is the hand we have been dealt.
If all goes according to plan, the report should be online early evening UK/Europe tomorrow.
