They say good things come in threes. Or in our case its certainly twos! Two hundred RS200 Sailors in Torbay.

The Volvo Noble Marine RS200 National Championship entry limit of 100 boats was reached over a month before the event starts, highlighting the RS200's continued popularity and firmly placing it as the most popular UK adult dinghy! To add to this, we have sailors coming all the way from Australia to be part of the event, really highlighting how great the 200 is on a global scale!

As ever, the fleet is super competitive with many British Sailing Team members popping along... but for many, this competition lies off the water! Super social-secs Rheanna and Claudia have put together an action-packed programme to entertain the fleet in the evening, ensuring plenty of sore heads the next day!

The fabulous team at RTYC have assured us the bar will be stocked ready for the 200's and introduced some fun initiatives to keep our sailors 'hydrated': Happy Hour with a twist! Complete with a 5,4,1, GO countdown, when the smiley flag is flying sailors can make use of that day's special drinks offers... but only for a limited time! With a range of drinks at £3.20 the class will start with 30 minutes flag time with an extension of 15mins for every £500 behind the bar that day. That way, the more you support the club the longer the discounts last... how much time do you think the 200s will drink?

Don't forget to make use of our multi-meal deal package to save you from cooking throughout the week - giving you more time to make use of happy hour and meet your fellow sailors!

Let's have a look at the Super Social Schedule...

Sunday - RS200 Big Beach Clean and Commodores Reception

New for 2019, from 16.00-17.30 all sailors & their family/friends are encouraged to join in with the RS200 big beach clean at Beacon Cove, mirroring World Sailing's Vision of keeping our seas clean! A great chance to get to know the class and do something good for our ocean playground.

Following the beach clean, the club will be serving a Sailors' Supper at 18.00 to get you fuelled and ready for the week.

From 18.30 onwards there will be a Gate Start Seminar by Gate Start Guru Pete Vincent. The Race Briefing is at 19.00 for all competitors to attend, followed by the Commodores Welcome with a free drink for all sailors.

Monday - Shite Shirt Curry, Top Table Q&A and Buddy Quiz Night

I'll have a chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna and prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan and 9 poppadums...

New for this year, we've combined the legendary university sailing CURRY SOCIAL and Shite Shirt theme! Curry is served from 19.00 (pre-book at entry)... cutlery is optional, although no bhuna's on the ceiling please Southampton, we're not in Manzils! Please wear the most tasteless 'Shite Shirt' you have (Plymouth we know you have many...), there will be a prize for the most offensive, so dig deep in that wardrobe!

Another new one for this year, the Top Table Q&A is at 19.45, hosted by Robin Meads, Pete Vincent, Morgan Peach & the overnight leaders we give you the chance to quiz them on everything 200 sailing so you can get the inside edge!

Most importantly, you asked, and we listened! At 20.30 we have the return of the Buddy Quiz! Hosted by local legend Morgan Peach, it's time to get quizzical with your Buddy team with points going towards the overall buddy team prize! This is followed by the daily prizegiving.

Tuesday - Young-at-Heart Karaoke and Masters Meal

"Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional." - Walt Disney Does the 200 fleet have the next Sonny & Cher or even, Bieber and Sheeran? We will kick start the weeks partying with a Karaoke and BBQ for all those 'young at heart'! The BBQ will be served from 19.00 and the singing kicks off at 20.30. The boom of doom will of course be making an appearance. Pre-Book your BBQ at entry.

For our Masters, a meal away from the partying at the club at Bistrot Pierre is arranged at 20:15 so you can reflect on the day's antics in more serene settings.

These are followed by the daily prizegiving at 21.30.

Wednesday - Dynamic Duo's Fancy Dress

We have many dynamic duos within the fleet... McLean Marine, Tom & Jo Hewitson, Matt & Emma, Ollie & his arms.

The renown RS200 Fancy Dress Party is where the partying really gets started. Local band Mafia 4 will be filling the dance floor with their Funky Grooves for you to dance to all night long. With prizes for best dressed, participation is mandatory!

Line your stomachs before with Chilli served at the club from 19.00. This is followed by the Daily Prizegiving at 21.00.

When will the party end... who knows!

Thursday - AGM and Top Table Discussion

No one can do everything, but everyone can do something...

The last few days of racing are important, so we've toned the socials down for one night only. The AGM kicks off at 18.30 and what better way to hold an AGM is whilst reflecting on the night before's antics, with drinks tokens for those who attend, we hope to see good turnout.

Find out just how you can sneak those final few places in the Top Table Q&A at 19.30 whilst fuelling yourself for some epic battles on the water with Local Speciality Pies (you are in Devon after all).

The daily prizegiving will be held at 20.00.

Friday - Black Tie Prizegiving

Congratulations, you've survived the week, and there's no better way to finish it off than with a Black-Tie Party, RS200 style.

The usual format of Championship dinner from 19.00 followed by the Prizegiving, followed by a DJ. Make sure you pre-order your black-tie tickets at entry to avoid missing out.

If you haven't had enough partying, this will then be followed by an Official Afterparty, keep an eye out on Facebook for more details.

Important Note - all timings are provisional - please check at the event or ask Rheanna & Claudia for more information!
