On day 3 of the RS Elite National championship held as part of the Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta, Race 6 started on time on midday in a north westerly 10-15 knots with the sun trying its hardest to peep through an overcast sky.

Once again, with the wind off the land, there were some sizeable shifts to play with. Paul Fisk in Legs Eleven sailing with Richard Tucker and Pippa Jubb got away cleanly off the start line and led from start to finish. Hot on their heels and coming in second was Ossie Stewart in More T Vicar sailing with Alice Masterman and Tom Stewart.

With more blue sky and lighter breeze, Races 7 and 8 were much more testing. Ossie Stewart, having warmed up with a second place in the first race of the day was by now on fire and recorded two race wins to dramatically close the gap on overall leaders Mike McIntyre, Simon Childs and Caroline McIntyre in Foudafafa who were having a slightly under par day by their own very high standards.

With two races to sail on the final day, the title is still up for grabs. Mike McIntyre holds a three point lead over Ossie Stewart with Paul Fisk further back in third at the head of a clutch of boats close behind.
