We are two weeks away from the start of the 2019 Squib Nationals at Torquay and with entries currently standing at 58 the class is guaranteed it's place in the prestigious 50+ boat championship club... This is a great achievement, however, it would be brilliant if we can get to at least 60. So are there a couple more of you out there that want to test your skills against the best of the Squib class in the lovely waters of Torbay?
Torbay is one of the country's favourite regatta locations and the Royal Torbay Yacht Club is one of the best clubs. The harbour where we will be berthed is literally in the middle of town, the club a short walk up the hill with great views over the sailing area. Torbay can be shifty and tricky but the prospect of champagne sailing in warm June weather with perfect sea breezes is tempting.
The field looks to be top quality with most of the likely contenders already entered!
Accommodation is very readily available - and cheap! From modern campsites to luxury hotels there is somewhere to accommodate all tastes. It also looks as though there will be a fabulous social programme focussed around the RTYC.
I guarantee it will be a really enjoyable event! So come and join us if you haven't already...
