Laser European Championship at Porto, Portugal - Overall

It was an intense week on the Atlantic front of Porto with more than 300 sailors, representing 55 countries towards the European title.

In the Laser Standard category, British sailor Lorenzo Chiavarini became European Champion, with Australian Matthew Wearn winner of the Open trophy.

In the Women's Laser Radial category, Anne-Marie Rindom of Denmark maintained the hegemony of the first days and secured victory by winning in the penultimate race of the day.

In the Laser Radial Open category, Polish sailor Aleksander Arian became European Champion.

In the Under-21 Laser Radial, the title went to the Irish sailor Jamie McMahon.

After 12 races during the six days of competition, the 2019 Laser European Championship, held at Porto, was considered a success by the present sailors.

International Laser Class Association representatives promised to return to Porto in the future, after the excellent organization at sea and onshore provided by BBDouro and Douro Marina Sailing Academy.

13 boats reduced to 6 by the last race The forecast was SW 10 knots increasing early afternoon to 15 knots. South Coast and South East Grand Prix event The morning started bright and sunny with a light, shifty breeze after a 50mph gale the day before.
