A high capacity portable diesel drive salvage pump designed specifically for salt water applications has been released by Australian Pump Industries. Called the Sea Skipper QP402SL-L100, the machine offers operators the advantages of salt water handling combined with excellent performance characteristics.
Fitted with bronze impeller and volute, body components manufactured of marine grade aluminium (coated inside and out with an epoxy style corrosion resistant paint) and integrated sacrificial anode, the pump is designed for a life at sea. The stainless steel fasteners complete the package with a hot dip galvanised frame, optionally stainless steel, for maximum longevity.
"The performance of the pump is excellent, with a maximum head of 50m (66 psi) and flows of up to 1400 LPM.
The pump is powered by 10HP electric start Yanmar diesel engine with recoil backup. The engine delivers loads of power, but enables the pump to weigh in at just a little over 100Kg. That light weight makes it ideal for applications of salvage and fire-fighting at sea for patrol boats, tugs, barges and ferries.
"In the event of an emergency, it's a simple matter to drop the suction hose over the side and to start the pre-primed pump. The high capacity and pressure makes it an ideal fire pump, whilst the big flow enables it to double as a very effective salvage pump!" Said Product Manager, Brad Farrugia.
The product is already used by the Australian Navy. For civil defence, the product is highly suitable for coast guard, customs, water police and even for bush fire-fighting from the water.
Further information, including a free comprehensive document pack on the Aussie Sea Skipper range is available from Australian Pump Industries or authorised distributors throughout Australia.
