Brilliant sunshine and enough wind to facilitate 14 races greeted the eight skippers that brought both boats and enthusiasm.
After a bit of tinkering with the start line to cater for fluctuating wind directions race 1 got under way.
Alan Tickle (West Lanc's Yacht Club) made a statement of intent by taking the first win of the day. (It would prove to be one of four wins for Tickle, who finished in the top three on all but four occasions, earning him overall second place.)
Graham Waugh (Burwain) and Richard Whittle (Burwain) scrapped all day for third place, with Whittle triumphing and Waugh taking fourth.
The overall winner was Hugo Chandor (Burwain) with seven first place finishes. That was enough to make up for some disastrous results when he had inadvisably thought a B rig might be best!
All in all it was a wonderful day, and much enjoyed by all. Thanks must go, as always, to the tireless work of Trevor Bell who drove from Cleveleys to keep score and cast judgement on the line. Thanks too to Alan Tickle, our only visitor, who, besides competing, brought yet another RC Laser to add to our ever-increasing fleet.
Regular RC Laser sailing happens most Sundays; we'd love to see you.
