Working in partnership with the IOCA (UK), King George Sailing Club is now running an Optimist flotilla fleet on Sunday mornings (09.30 until 12.30). The coaching will be run by a combination of RYA instructors and racing experts.

The club itself is located on the King George Reservoir (E4 7PX), which is a raised bowl design with easy launching that creates ideal conditions for Junior sailing.

Dates and times:

  • Spring sessions: May 5th and May 12th
  • Summer one: June 9th, June 16th, June 23rd and June 30th
  • Summer two:, July 7, July 14th, July 21st and July 28th
The spring sessions will be drop-in based allowing sailors to sample the club. The summer sessions will require pre-registration, email for more details. The cost for the spring session is free to members or £10 per session (this includes the hire of a club boat).

In addition to the Optimist fleet, the club also runs a wider Junior programme on Sunday afternoons covering racing level Toppers and RS Fevas.
