Sailing Club of Rijeka and Porto Montenegro Yacht Club are inviting you to join the seventh edition of the 600NM offshore challenge, the Thousand Islands Race, which will take part from 19th to 29th of September 2019.

We have 150 days to the race start, so there is still plenty of time to book the dates in your calendar, gather a crew and sign up for the adventure.

The first Thousand Islands Race edition was back in 2013 when 12 teams gathered at the starting line in Rijeka and sailed the amazing route. As the name says itself, you will have the opportunity to navigate through one of the most beautiful archipelagos, among 1244 Croatian islands and rocks, as well as the overwhelming Montenegro coast.

The race is sailed in two legs, the first one starting from Rijeka on Sunday, the 22nd of September, leaving islands Unije, Susak, Premuda, Dugi Otok, Kornat, Vis, Lastovo and Sv. Andrija on the starboard and finishing in Porto Montenegro Marina in Tivat. The second leg starts on Thursday, the 26th of September, from Tivat, sailing the same way back to Rijeka. The competitors can decide whether they want to participate in both or only one leg of the race. Entry fee is 700 EUR for both legs or 500 EUR for one leg.

NOR, entry form and all other details are available on website, thousandislandsrace.com. Feel free to contact us for any additional information or help.

Both leg records were set by Wild Joe in 2015, with perfect weather conditions for achieving it. We were hoping for a new one last year due to a promising weather forecast, however, the 2018 turned up to be the most challenging edition in our race history.

But, remember, this 600NM offshore challenge is not primarily about winning and setting records...everyone who participated would agree for sure, it is about accepting the challenge and going over your limits, enjoying the beauty of sailing and racing on, what we like to say, the most amazing racing course nature could design.
