The now traditional Good Friday DF65 Open Meeting attracted a quality fleet
of fourteen boats but sadly it didn't attract much in the way of wind.
The first race of the day saw a simple figure of eight course set in what
wind there was with the yachts starting upwind in a South Easterly
direction.
Just to show how fickle the wind was race 2 used the same course,
but this time the beat was to the North West and so it went on until eight races
had been sailed, some in near zero wind and others in a reasonable F2 at
times with the occasional nose dive for some yachts.
Dave Darwell (Askern) sailed consistently discarding two second places to take
the event win on 8 points, Martin Hallums (Kieghly)discarded a sixth and fourth to
finish only 3 points behind on 11 points with Chris More (Askern) taking
third place with 18 points.
