The Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image international photo competition announces the launch of its new website, designed to better showcase photographers and their work and improve the visitor experience.
Presenting images in a better resolution, the site comprises a powerful search engine that helps identify and value yacht racing photographers. It will be a useful tool for regatta organizers, teams and sponsors seeking a yacht racing photographer, for example in a specific country.
The ninth edition of the event takes place one month earlier than usual, due to the dates adopted by the Yacht Racing Forum (October 22-23, Lorient). Photographers are therefore invited to send their image before September 12 at midnight.
Calendar
- Submission of the photos is open
- Photos must have been taken between October 13, 2017 and September 12, 2018.
- Photos must be submitted before September 12, 2018 at midnight.
- The 80 best images will be published on the contest website on September 18th.
- Public votes will be open between September 18 and October 10.
- The twenty best images chosen by the international jury will be exhibited at the Yacht Racing Forum, in Lorient, France, on October 22-23, in the presence of the world's leading personalities from the world of sailing.
- The winner of the contest will be celebrated in public, while a prize money and other prizes will be distributed among the winners. Two "secondary" awards will also be presented: the Yacht Racing ForumAward (selected by conference delegates) and the Public Award (based on public votes).
No fewer than 137 photographers representing 27 nations submitted an image for the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image 2017 competition. More than 20,000 people voted for their favourite image, while 2.2 million pages were viewed on the event's website.
