On Saturday 23 June, Burghfield Sailing Club welcomed 21 Hansa dinghies to its now famous turquoise lake. The weather was hot and sunny with a generally feeble North Westerly blowing fitfully.

The ultraviolet shielding weed repellent dye is working hard to cope with the relentless sun we have been experiencing, but there were still patches of weed floating around. The rescue and support boats were briefed to monitor the situation and assist in clearing the keels if weed became trapped.

The race officers laid a simple triangular course that would cope with the wind conditions.

In the Liberty Class Tessa Watkiss from Frensham Pond won with 3 straight firsts.

In the 303 Double Handers Peter Etherton and Peta Etherton from Frensham Pond won with two firsts and a second.

In the 303 Single Handers James Woosnam from Frensham Pond also won with two firsts and a second.

In the 2.3 class Lindsay Burns from Frensham Pond also won with 3 first places.

Did somebody mention that Frensham Pond did rather well?
