Nine Yeoman and Kinsman including two visiting boats, one from Norfolk Broads Yacht Club and another from Erith Yacht Club on the Thames, took part in HSC's Yeoman Open at the weekend.
With racing taking place on Hoveton Little Broad, Saturday began with gusty Northerly winds. NBYC's Guy Coleman and Carl Brady sailing Nimrod started as they meant to go on with a lengthy lead in the first race. They continued this dominant form throughout the later races, taking four further first places, although there was good competition provided by the remainder of the fleet.
With similar conditions on Sunday, racing was relatively uneventful, with the exception of a wind shift on the start line that forced almost the whole fleet to be over resulting in a general recall.
A consistent performance from Geoff Stubbs and Katja Garbe sailing Tara with three second places was enough to secure them second overall, whilst just behind in third overall with two seconds and a third was Paul Clarke crewed by Mario Tinge in Two C Sons.
Overall Results:
1st Nimrod (NBYC) – Guy Coleman & Carl Brady
2nd Tara (HSC) – Geoff Stubbs & Katja Garbe
3rd Two C Sons (HSC) – Paul Clarke & Mario Tinge
4th Tanskey (HSC) – Toby Fields & Daniel Blackwell
