X-Yachts Solent Cup 2013 at Royal Southern Yacht Club - Preview

We are delighted to announce our Solent Cup 2013, this will run from the 3-5th May at the Royal Southern Yacht Club. This event has been a great success in previous years and we are keen to continue this.
The Solent Cup is an open event solely for all X-Yacht owners, crew, family and friends.
We kick off the Solent Cup with new sponsors Charles Hurst- Specialist Car Division hosting our "X-Yachts Owners Association Drinks'' followed shortly after by our "Crew Party" on the Friday.
During Saturday and Sunday the days will be packed full of windward / leeward style racing in the racing class or if you would rather some easy going competition the family Class maybe a great option.
The Solent Cup is not just about time on the water, the X-Yachts team will also be organising a fantastic program of entertainment ashore too, including our Rum Reception sponsored by Pantaenius with live Bongo Player.
The Annual Gala Dinner on Saturday evening will be hosted by a special guest speaker and is open to all X-Yacht owners and competitors at the Solent Cup. Even if you are unable to take part in the event on the water, we would love to see you for the dinner.
This year we shall be supporting Sail4Cancer. Sail4Cancer is primarily a provider of water based respite days and holidays for families affected by cancer. We shall be running a charity raffle and auction, all the money raised will go towards providing these brave adults and children with an experience on or around the water.
We can also confirm Peter Scholfield will be hosting complimentary weather and tide briefings for the day ahead, on the mornings before racing and back due to popular demand Jeremy Smart will be conducting a technical sailing de briefing shortly after Saturdays racing, this will be split into each class.
