No I think I know who started the more recent trend in black boats, then I'm not worried about them cooking in the summer sun.
Pretty much everything looks cool black. Except that Merlin. Which totally sucked at it. Edited by G.R.F. - 04 Mar 12 at 5:38pm |

One of the best pieces of advice I was given when I was a kid is if you haven't got something useful to say, don't say anything at all. |

I'll start posting some stuff that caught my interest if it's not too boring, I'll start with the Aura.
![]() Nose on shot showing bow ![]() Bottle screws, chain plates and spinnaker block. ![]() Rudder assembly with novel positioning roller on trailing edge ![]() Close up of wheel fitting. ![]() Shot showing the jib track (something I'm looking for) mounted in the all carbon full wrap rack assembly which is one piece and wraps right round check the stern shot.

Nice pictures Graeme, the aura was a beautiful thing, but I am going to have to disagree with the merlin thing though, I liked the look of all the boats there, even the crabber 12. But to be honest to me all boats are beautiful things, but there are some which are just outstanding, the aura being one of them.

![]() Here's that cherub that I thought was particularly well sorted. ![]() You'll have to excuse the close ups, I'm looking for details ![]() Just look at the tricked out cable tunnel, wish i'd noticed the lollipops, I'd have nicked one. Nice boat, probably the best Cherub I've ever noticed, (that doesn't mean there haven't been better, just none that have caught my eye before, then maybe i wasn't looking before in the same way I do now.

There was one more thing that was outstanding for me, given I've been flirting with the idea of putting kite bladders into my racks (and my mainsail) I met this really cool young guy who has a carbon business making Moths. very enthusiastic, almost had me believing I could launch one at Hythe (Just lift it over you head and walk in, it's only 35kgs all up, get up to your chest then chuck it) hadn't the heart to mention when I'm up to my chest other would probably be in to their knees.
Anyway, I'll find the pics in a minute, but he's got a moth with air bladders in the racks, which naturally given I'd been thinking along the same lines, i thought was brilliant. ![]() Edited by G.R.F. - 04 Mar 12 at 7:42pm |
