I am one of them. Sadly, I think there are many others like me who dont post often for that very reason. You can either ignore that perspective, or take note and perhaps be less polarising....  By your own admission, this site is often tumbleweed

Just take the time-honoured advice people, and ignore the troll.

I have to admit though that I quite enjoy his random comments, even if I take care not to rise to them.  Then again, I don't follow the current UK fashion to take offence at everything possible, even when it's unintended.

Well that's excellent advice, maybe I should follow your fine example from the Changing rooms thread.. Weren't you the fellow that took his mother in law on his honeymoon and told all these fine people they were dinosaurs? Hmm Maybe I won't..

It was clear to me that iGRF was trolling from when I joined the forum, I just apply a discount factor to his posts and ignore him when he says something that annoys me. Actually I assumed Zeon was also a troll, just a much more grumpy, less happy one and I applied the same to his posts. What is interesting is that often their is a grain of truth in what a troll posts and others are just too frightened to make that point. I guess what I am saying is that I am ok with the trolls, they hold a mirror up to us and sometimes its useful to take a look.

I am sure the 20 or so people who do most if the posting are happy with the current setup.

But would not a change to use of real names or at least putting your real name on your account make things less exclusive and likely to encourage others to join in?

I doubt it. Internet pseudonyms and trolling don't automatically go hand in hand with the former leading to the latter. FWIW it very easy to use a false but believable name anyway so anybody wanting to troll just sets up an anonymous email address and registers as John Smith or WHY.

Fortunately there are only a couple of trolls on here, not counting griff, we all know who they are, problem is for them, when they say something sensible, no one listens, I sometimes go on the attack but it's probably best to ignore them.
