Ewww. I've got a somewhat similar story from when I was
on the Tall Ships Race with the Ocean Youth Club a long time ago . . . we all had oilskins that were of the 'pull over the head' rather than 'zip on the front' variety. We had all been yelled at by the skipper for barfing in the heads, and my fellow watch member woke up feeling the urgent need to hurl. So he scrambled into his oilies, scrambled on deck and made it to the leeward rail just in time for his conference call with Ralph. However, when he stood up . . . He had his oilies on back to front, had puked into the hood, and the contents of the hood were making their warm and comforting way down the inside of his oilies. Yuk. |

Even though I have reached an age where bladder problems should be creeping in, I have never done it. However I do have a salutary tale. I used to be a long distance truck driver in the days when we wore overalls and tractor units carried spare wheels horizontal under the side of the chassis. When nature called It was practice for some drivers to take down their overalls, sit on the spare wheel where the centre hole was conveniently situated and perform the necessary evacuation. One of my colleagues found himself forced to perform this operation. Upon completion he re adjusted his clothing, pulled his overalls up and climbed back into the cab.......only to be greeted by a dreadful smell....he had defecated into his overalls!

Gentlemen,
Some drysuits have an additional zip lower down. And with hikers shorts and what have you etc, a cut off plastic bottle, (and I mean the LOWER end) is often a useful collection device. Save it up and just chuck the contents over a closely adjacent contending boat. Works wonders in covering skirmishes ![]() Edited by Slippery Jim |

exactly, and its way worse for us wimmin to get everything peeled off ready to go...but only if I'm on a big lake or the sea and not within easy access to the loos... besides, I am constantly falling out of the c boat, so plenty of rinsing goes on. In Canada last year in between races, an hour at least from shore, I looked around and all I could see was mooning men ....then I fellout of my boat.... ![]() |

the same, but different...

As a child I was shown a wetsuit that someone else had peed into....the resulting stain was enough to keep me on the straight and narrow for good.

certainly if I have peed in my wetuit, I will take it off in the shower- but I also often take it off in the shower if I've been sailing on salt water, as it helps give it a rinse out. Or if I've been sweating a lot. Or if I'm rather cold.
Never piss in a communal shower, though. Shower at home, that's another matter! Edited by alstorer |

Are the people who pee in their wetsuits the same ones who take their wetsuits off in the shower ?
I always wondered why they did that. |

I'd admit to been guilty but that was in my old wetsuit.
The events at Datchet and QMSC where you are doing 4 races back to Laser sailors stand on the back and allow nature to take its course! |

I try to avoid doing it (it does knack the glues and the neoprene a bit), but sometimes, well, it just can't be helped can it? Middle of a long race, you're getting soaked anyway....
