What's going on with that Musto Skiff? There's no way it could accelerate from 11knots to 22knots in 2 seconds! That's gotta be a freak result.

Especially as in that 5 minutes it didn't get above 16kts for the rest of the time!

Indeed...

Does look a little interesting.  I would be quite interested to see the heading to see if it was a massive bear off in a big gust just prior to the 22kts.  

 

As for the comment about acceleration;   The GPS will take a plot where the heading stays the same; so if you turn your GPS on while on the slip way (boat is pointing across the slip at this point); leave it for 30 secs it will show 30 secs at heading A, turn it around (pointing down to the water and then leaving it again for 30 seconds and then walk it down the slip way 10m in 30 seconds it will show 10m in 60 seconds and so speed = 6kph.

 

This is why I would like to see the headings as per my plot (that you’ll just about make out)
