In the next 12-24hrs the boat leading will finish the race, he is clearly out in front and with a big breeze by them, it wont be long.

Yep!  Although the high pressure is badly timed as I am in Switzerland from tomorrow for the weekend with very limited ability for course changes...

I think you guys had an even tougher South Atlantic than I did.

Once you get into the North Easterlies there are hardly any course changes for a couple of thousand miles which is a big relief. Also means any overtaking will be down to where you start from and I think your Easterly position should definitely help you there.

I did wonder if you were giving it a go.

I'll be going West, just need to figure out how close I can go to the centre of the high. TBH wasn't much of a decision as us Sans Options sailors don't have the code 0s for high close reaching speed, which generally means seeking the freer angles to reduce the speed difference. Just hope I don't hit the big angle changes at night, which is where we lose out loads.

I suspect Dougal and SimonG just behind me will be doing the same.

By the way, as a newbie to this, how do we actually finish? I see there is 5 mile radius circle around the flag in Les Sables - do we just need to get inside that?
