Agreed - although I would have preferred it if you were behind me rather than in front!  I spent an awful long time staring at your transom...

Great fun, but I am also glad it is over!

What could possibly go wrong?

Congratulations, although 92 hours sounds a bit quick for that position  Wink

Should also finish this afternoon mid 70ks, the Azores originally cost me 25k but have got them back now as the front did arrive from the NW and I think it will end up gaining me about 5k overall.
Enjoyed it but best when having someone from the Forum close by to race against, a good contest with Craiggo since Brazil.

Made one or two costly mistakes, first one was in the South Atlantic on the way down when I got greedy for overall ranking, held off turning south to avoid a developing hole and ended up getting badly caught in it. Worst mistake was when going on holiday for a few days before Xmas setting a course taking me just south of an ice gate near Australia, it wasn't so much the 48 hours spent going back upwind but the distance everyone else went West during that time moving me from 50k to 150k. Also crashed into Brazil on the way but only for a couple of hours so not to damaging!

Will do it again at some point but only in the Winter!

Went for the over the Azores approach too and it's gained me about 30000 places. Should finish this afternoon. Phew!

Decision a couple of days ago to go round the top of the azores high looks like backfiring - 10k at least so far and a large hole appearing in 36/48 hours time Cry

Sargesail and Sparks 23, it looks like you have a good drag race to the finish. Sparks behind with better angles, Sargesail ahead with tighter angles. Whose it gonna be?

And with that tack 10 hours earlier than mine you gained about 4000 places on me!. Will be interesting to see how this works out over the next couple of days. I'm hoping for better angles and more wind to get back in front.  ( at least after today)
