Predict Wind's 30% discount on year subs - going going...

by Sail-World Cruising on 8 Jan 2010
Neil SW
15th January is the last date to take advantage of discounts available for the state-of-the-art weather forecasting system from PredictWind. A 30% discount is nothing to be taken lightly, and the results from PredictWind are becoming legendary. Read on for some customer feedback.

Neil Schlossberg, who has been cruising the South Pacific since 1987 including an amazing 19 voyages between the Islands and New Zealand, sails a Swan 48 yacht called Trumpeter. This is what he says:

' If there is one thing that is consistently on cruisers mind that would be weather. Most cruisers have their sources to obtain this but I have never seen one site so all encompassing as PredictWind. The speed and ease to extract different types of information from PredictWind ranks it well above any source I have ever used. My personal favorite is getting wind speed and direction hourly in text format. No more squinting at wind barbs with a magnifying glass! I have found it to be extremely accurate this year in Fiji and it has become a morning and afternoon ritual log in. I highly recommend PredictWind to anyone seriously interested in the most accurate weather forecasts available. '

Then there is Luiz Schechter, who has been both cruising and racing in Brazil and South America since 1969, and cruises the Brazilian coast in a 27ft trimaran the Lara S.

He says: ' My family spent vocations in Buzios, an area known for its beautiful beaches, but also for its strong winds. We used PredictWind to pick the best days for sailing and never had a surprise. It removed the element of uncertainty and provided the peace of mind I could never have in that area.

Afterwards we anticipated the departure to Rio by two days following PredictWind's five day forecast. What a great tool! We enjoyed 13 hours of pure sailing pleasure and used the engine only for the last miles. Needless to say, conditions were adverse the next days... as predicted.

The animated display, with timed maps using colors for expected wind speed range and arrows for expected wind direction, is perfect for optimal route planning and departure timing. Detailed and reliable weather information improves safety, speed, cost and FUN! One thing I can predict: sailors will become addicted to this tool.'
