Melges 24 Worlds - 2015 Melges 24 World Championship SailRacer
2015 Melges 24 World Championship - With over one hundred entries from 19 nations, the 2015 Melges 24 Worlds are set to be one of the largest gatherings for this high tech class in recent years and one of the biggest for a One Design sports boat.

In addition to a strong Scandinavian and Europe contingent, entries from as far a field as Australia and the USA will make the 2015 Worlds a truly International affair.

Jens Wathne, Chairman of the International Melges 24 Class Association is very excited about the upcoming World Championship in Middefart, Denmark. 'Reaching 100 boats before the deadline of early registration is massive for the Melges 24 class. It proves that our high performance one-design class is rocking in Europe. Some of the best sailors from all over the world will compete and I know that the Danish hospitality and friendliness will make this as a championship to remember.'

Following a successful live presentation offering at the recent RYA UK Youth Championships, SportsXstream and SailRacer will again be working together to deliver an enhanced sports presentation package at the 2015 Melges Worlds. The new custom designed dedicated camera cat will be filming the action and broadcasting back to shore for live streaming to the web. Combined with live GPS tracking, anaylis and social media engagement, this will allow online spectators to follow all the action. For coaches and sailors, replays and analysis will help with post race debriefs.

Middlefart is a historic maritime town in Central Denmark, with modern sailing facilities. Hosts Match Racing Denmark and Middelfart Sailing Club look forward to welcoming the fleet and some great racing. Opening and prize giving ceremonies will take place at the beautiful and newly renovated Hindsgavl Castle

Following the Melges 24 Worlds, Match Racing Denmark and Middelfart Sailing Club will also be hosting the ISAF Womens Match Racing Worlds, which will also enjoy similar live coverage.
