420 South American Championships Jorge Cousillas – El Ojo Nautico
In the beginnings of April, the 420 South American championships gathered twenty-eight boats on some good level skills, that include 2013 world champion Brito/Kneipp and other strong competitors.
They sailed since the second to the fifth of April in Buenos Aires Rio de La Plata in good breeze from eight to fourteen knots. The first three positions changed daily between Diniz/Aranguren, Brito/Kneipp and Lombardi/Luz. By the last day of the championship, two Brazilians and one Argentinean crew were fighting for the title.
By the end of the day, it looked like the boat composed by Lombardi/ Luz had won the championship, but due to a collision on the first race of the day, they were disqualified, leading them to the third place.
The Argentinian crew with Felipe Diniz and Ivan Aranguren, managed to beat Brito/Kneipp in the last race of the championship proclaiming them the new south American champions, over second place Brito/Kneipp a and in third Lombardi/Luz also from Brazil.
