Rus Cup Match Race to take place in Riva del Garda

Around 60 Russian sailors arrived today at Fraglia Vela Riva for a five day stay to take part in the 'Rus Cup #9@Garda, a Match race competed on the club's J80 boats.
The event consists of a round robin,semi-final and final. Umpires Luca Babini and Gianluca Vangelista are experts in overseeing the regattas, a fundamental element in this head to head duel Match race made popular in the America’s Cup, the top of the line in match races, although some would disagree since the introduction of the catamaran foil. Boat try-outs are scheduled for Thursday morning and the first of the round robins take place in the early afternoon.
And so as the International season of Fraglia Vela Riva kicks off with Russia, it prepares to welcome the hundreds of young helmsmen together with their coaches and families for the Garda Optimist Meeting from the 16th-20th April.
