The British Keelboat League returns to Scotland for its third qualifier of 2023, with Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club all set to welcome teams from both north and south of the border.

Entries are open with places available for up to nine teams to #rockupandrace using the club's ready-to-go fleet of one-design Sonars over the weekend of 24-25 June 2023.

Teams of 4/5 crew, including at least one non-male member, may represent their club, class, association, school or university. The deadline for signing up is 23:29 Friday 16 June.

Robin Young, Rear Commodore (Sailing) for the club, said: "The RNCYC are looking forward to hosting the next leg of the British Keelboat League qualifiers on the Upper Clyde.

"Multiple short sharp races will test and improve competitors and give teams a chance to qualify for the finals in Southampton in September. Just bring yourself and your crew, the boats and equipment will be provided, what could be easier!"

The club brings its wide-ranging experience to the British Keelboat League, with an impressive track record of running championships, match racing and previous editions of the BKL.

The club will be inviting sailors to enjoy a social after the racing on the Saturday, with the bar also open on the Friday evening to welcome teams. Accommodation includes lots of local B&Bs and camping for tents/vans is available in the club grounds for free.

The Royal Northern & Clyde YC was founded in 1824 and is proud to be Scotland's oldest yacht club, as well as one of the oldest sailing clubs in the UK and worldwide.

Its clubhouse, a Grade II listed Victorian seaside villa, is located in the picturesque village of Rhu, nestled between the Firth of Clyde - the club's sailing area - and Loch Lomond.

Sign up to secure a place for your team or for further information, contact the club via Robin or by calling +44 (0) 1436 820322.
