ASMEX conference will shed insight into opportunities in Turkey

by AIMEX/Superyacht Australia on 23 Apr 2012
Special guest speaker at ASMEX 2012. AIMEX
Ozgur Tuna from Istanbul will provide a key presentation at the ASMEX conference to be held 22/23 May at Sanctuary Cove immediately prior to the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.

Ozgur, based in Istanbul works as a Business Development Manager for Austrade. Ozgur has considerable experience helping companies set up or expand their businesses in Turkey. Ozgur has an excellent working knowledge of the Marine sector having previously worked for UK Trade and Investment in Istanbul looking after the Superyacht sector.

AIMEX recently organised a trade mission to Turkey visiting 8 superyacht builders and were so impressed with the market there they invited Ozgur to come to Australia to educate members about this market and the opportunities he sees.

Ozgur has conducted market research, partner/distributor/agent search and custom tailored research activities covering the Turkish Marine sector.

This has involved in-depth market analysis and feasibility surveys, analysis of competitors, assessing different methods of market entry, marketing and distribution strategy, finding trading partners and identifying potential customers.

Given his knowledge of the market in Turkey his address at ASMEX will be invaluable to delegates. In the current economic environment everyone is looking for new markets and Turkey is definitely a market that has opportunity for Australian companies. Having someone with his capability on the ground in Turkey is invaluable for Australian companies.

Ozgur was born and raised in Antalya, Turkey. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Ankara University. Ozgur worked at a public school in Turkey teaching English for high school students for a year.

He then moved to Seattle, USA and earned a Master of Science in Information Systems Management from Seattle Pacific University. After completing his graduate studies, Ozgur worked at an online learning software company, Apex Learning, in the US. Prior to joining Austrade, Ozgur worked as a Senior Trade and Investment Manager for UK Trade and Investment in Istanbul, Turkey.

AIMEX has certainly ensured there is a talented pool of people speaking at ASMEX. It is critical today that companies take every opportunity to hear what is happening in global markets, where the opportunities may be and particularly how to take advantage of them. Registrations for the conference have been rolling in since early in the year.

Registrations are open for the conference and further information can be found at www.superyacht-australia.com or www.aimex.asn.au or by contacting marketing@superyacht-australia.com.
