11th Hour Racing is headed to Houston, Texas, to present at the annual Green Sports Alliance Summit, June 28-30, the world’s largest gathering for the sports community around sustainability, including both professional and collegiate sports teams, leagues and venues.

The partnerships that 11th Hour Racing has forged within two of the most prominent arenas of professional sailing, the America’s Cup with Sir Ben Ainslie’s Land Rover BAR and the Volvo Ocean Race with Charlie Enright and Mark Towill’s 55 South, will be featured at the Summit with two plenary sessions and a panel discussion.

Land Rover BAR has always put sustainability at the heart of the team’s operations: working with Exclusive Sustainability Partner 11th Hour Racing, the team recently published their second annual Sustainability Report, underlining the team’s commitment to sustainability and achievements in 2015.

55 South, the team captained by Volvo Ocean Race sailors Charlie Enright and Mark Towill, is committed to raising awareness and finding solutions to the issue of marine debris, in collaboration with 2016 Title Sponsor and Official Sustainability Partner 11th Hour Racing.

The Summit’s Opening Plenary session Teamwork in Action: Partnerships that are Moving the Needle (June 29), will include BT Sport COO, Jamie Hindhaugh, discussing the 100% Sport campaign to inspire sport fans to take action for a more sustainable world and their partnerships with Land Rover BAR as the team’s Technology in Sustainability Partner.

The breakout session Harnessing the Power of Partnerships: Building a Sustainable Sports Team (June 29), will be moderated by Jill Savery, Sustainability Advisor for 11th Hour Racing, and will feature the following panelists: Ian Ellison, Sustainability Manager for Jaguar Land Rover; Jamie Hindbaugh, COO, BT Sport and BTTV; Jeremy Pochman, President of 11th Hour Racing; and, Susie Tomson, Sustainability Manager for Land Rover BAR. Panelists will describe Land Rover BAR’s sustainability journey thus far, and will focus on the partnerships in sustainability that the team has developed to inspire change across the sport and wider sailing industry.

The Closing Plenary session Chatting with the Champs (June 30), will feature Charlie Enright, Co-Founder/Skipper of 55 South, among other renowned athletes. This panel will explore the role of professional athletes as they influence behavior change and environmental responsibility among millions of fans, and highlight how their teams, venues and sponsors can help amplify their efforts.
