Currently a group of Rio Paralympic sailors in NZ, Australia, Italy and France are testing the Weta trimaran.

Most are Category 4+ (on an assessment scale of 1 to 7, with 7 indicating the least severe and 1 indicating the most severe eligible impairment.)

'I am amazed how these sailors have been able to step into a stock standard Weta, single handed, and sail the boat really comfortably. They are absolutely blown away by the experience', says Roger Kitchen of Weta Marine.

'Their next goal is competing in the World Masters Games.'

'I am not sure that they are too worried about any WS decision on boats, as long term they have found a boat that they find exciting and can sail in any regattas.'

'The Weta meets the WS criteria of being affordable, exciting, easy to ship with world wide distribution but more importantly the sailors can now look forward to mainstream weekly competition.'

In the video 2016 Paralympian Chris Sharp puts the Weta through her paces - sailing single-handed and with a main, jib and gennaker!
