After the first day of the St Regis China Coast Regatta organised by RHKYC the phrase is “the breeze is back.” For anyone who thinks that Hong Kong consists of nothing but skyscrapers, office blocks and shopping malls, take a look at the pics that go with the story, below. This morning, there's even more pressure going through the Middle Island anchorage. More of the same, please.

St. Regis China Coast Regatta - Day 1 - Bring it on!

After two years of unseasonally quiet conditions, the 2013 St. Regis China Coast Regatta got off to a promising start today in a consistent 10 to 12kts of Easterly breeze, sunshine and low humidity. In spite of the previous evening's libations at the Mount Gay Welcome Drinks, all 44 of the entrants made the start line with the prospect of one long islands course for the day.... [more]

Virbac-Paprec 70 capsizes ahead of Transat Jacques Vabre - Video
The MOD70 Virbac-Paprec capsized on Thursday afternoon during a training session ahead of the Transat Jacques Vabre. Her two crew, Jean-Pierre Dick and Roland Jourdain were sailing 15-20 knots of wind. They were surprised by a strong gust and could not stop their multihull overturning.
