Summer Sailstice, the global celebration of sailing which takes place on the weekend closest to the summer solstice, is just about to happen. If you've never joined before, what about making this your year – it's a lot of fun and the organisers want your help to spread the word around the sailing world!

The indomitable Jeanne Socrates just keeps sailing on, aiming for the third time for a solo, non-stop, unassisted voyage around the world. Almost everything on her boat has broken – she only has half a main, the autopilot has packed it in, she is having to rely on ham radio buffs for her communications – and that's just the beginning.
