Ainslie Racing in America's Cup, Australia Day plans, London show down
Tullett Prebon London Boat Show has passed with almost as much media attention on those exhibitors NOT in attendance and a lower turnout of visitors than years passed as the new ways of attracting people to a boat show. But organisers assure us that this is an indication of a market still slowly on the way back from GFC, not a lack of industry support for the event.
The 2012 event will be the 24th, with many new additions to the program. Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show
With just four and a bit months to go until the 24th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, organisers are already announcing world and national launches of some major marques, as well as plenty of buzz about an invigorated program aiming to appeal to the widest market possible - some real show-stopping additions to the offering to give visitors excellent value for entry price. A major news development for one of the sailing industry's major showpieces, the America's Cup. It's no exaggeration to say 'news never sleeps' so take some time to look over the variety of informative and in some cases entertaining stories we have assembled this week.
Next week, we are going to publish the MUST HAVE facts and stats for the boating and broader marine industry, outlining the economic benefits, employment and export earnings our industry contributes. This in light of the massive multi-million dollar boost the automotive industry has received this week, and for the past two decades or so, apparently to keep it afloat and Aussies in jobs. Now all we need is a concerted industry effort to prove to those in power that the marine/boating industries deserve supporting too.
