Apologies for the delay in sending this newsletter – we have been battling along another 10,000 website world wide, a major hacking attack, which in our case failed completely, as we hold none of the sought after credit card info on line and have very robust security defences, which have become even stronger over the last 36 hours.
This is particularly interesting in terms of its potential impact on all businesses, especially those linked to e-commerce (which is what they're after, credit card info). Take some time to read our Richard Gladwell's analysis and commentary on this episode of cyber attack and what you can do to avoid it yourself.
I hope this week's batch of stories is worth the additional day's wait!
We have news from Sanya, China where preparations are underway for the April 2011 boating and lifestyle spectacular known as the Hainan RendezVous, then there's a wrap up of Southampton's 10 day show citing organisers' assessments as well as the facts and figures on sales and attendance, plus the latest from the south of South Korea, known as the Land of the Dinosaurs and promising a very grand Korea Yacht and Boat Show this year.
Several Australian companies and organisations have signed up as exhibitors, some are involved in the program, including the MIAA which is conducting a Marina Training Program, and there's a major game fishing tournament to coincide with the event. The Korean region hosting the event is very ambitious so it will be interesting to hear from the event's marketing consultant, Barry Jenkins and those companies attending just how this year's show turns out.
As we begin the downward plunge to the end of the year, we also have news of a pre-Christmas launch of the aims, objectives and branding for the Boating Industry Alliance. Watch this space for more!
