Today we bring you Peter Campbell's wide ranging interview, in two parts, with Matt Allen the Commodore of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. It covers everything from a change in the start day, to handicapping, to Jessica Watson.
In the coming months we will give you an insight into 2010 lead up campaigns, new boats and new equipment. It's already shaping as a great year.
A few days ago we talked to Mark Richards, skipper of Bob Oatley's Wild Oats XI - the 100 footer has won four Sydney to Hobarts on line honours, but was beaten in 2009.
Ricko said ‘We will be doing many more offshore races and regattas from now to December. Last year we didn't put nearly enough effort in. You saw the result of that; we were beaten by Alfa Romeo. This year we expect Wild Oats XI will be facing Grant Wharington's Wild Thing, Sean Langman's Loyal team and Lahana, come Boxing Day.

Surpassing success-Beneteau replaces the 40.7 with an absolute winner John Curnow, When two, virtually identical Beneteau First 40s took first and second overall in the last Rolex Sydney Hobart, it raised more than a few eyebrows.
