Melbourne favours festival mode, London and Toronto on show
Wet and wild weather around Australia, but it doesn't appear to have impacted on sales, with scores of dealers reporting a return to steady summer sales and a definite optimism in the air. This is echoed the world over, as boat shows, brokers and dealers, as well as financial pundits, forecast a start to the New Year characterised by positive consumer sentiment, and better still, a return to spending!
According to the November Westpac Melbourne Institute Index of Consumer Sentiment, the level of confidence Australians have about their future financial prospects is 18% above the longer-term average - a remarkable recovery in confidence! In the US, a rise in employment and wages could mean a turnaround in that economy, long the litmus test for the rest of the world.
Back to boating, this week we bring you news and features that profile the business of boating, from shows and launches to marketing strategies and sponsorships.
Send us your news, views and feedback. We welcome them.
All the best for a wonderful year ahead.
