Many Canadians getting involved in Sail-World Canada
Last week, we encouraged you to share your Canadian yachting stories with the on-line Sail-World community; the response has been phenomenal! E-mails are coming in from all parts of the country with contribution offers from sailors, armchair racers and concerned individuals; I firmly believe Sail-World Canada can fill a void and promote sailing in this great country. I look forward to your e-mails and creativity.
Starting this week, we are following more closely the adventures of Cape Breton Island, the Canadian sponsored entry in the Clipper Around the World Race; we'll be sharing crew diaries along with regular reporting as they tackle the Southern Oceans on their way from Cape Town to Australia.
We will also be celebrating the success of Canadian sailors; the star this week being Curtis Florence, CYA Rolex Sailor of the Year recipient.
From the Jules Verne attempt to the Solidaire du Chocolat; we keep an eye on the challenges encountered by the many offshore events participants.
Finally, we will endeavor to improve our transition from the paper magazine business to the web environment, where the spell-checker doesn't pick up typos in certain fields; one of these days, we'll share with you the story of the Lastest Brealing...
We look forward to your stories and you photos; please submit your event/regatta/class/boat news directly to Sail-World Canada by clicking here. Your pictures really make the story; include as many as you like (up to 12) and ensure your photos are at least 1280 pixels wide so they can be viewed in high resolution. You can also easily post your stories and photos directly from the Sail-World Canada website; simply click on the new big red bar in the upper right hand corner of the home page.
