METS approaches, Mustang buys Warren moulds, Seawind 1250 launches

Finally, the rain here in dusty SEQld! I appreciate the cloudless, breezy summer days as much as anybody, but eating dirt blown in from the west is not pleasant (let alone the additional house work!)

This week, along with the rain, we can give thanks for a swag of good news stories that lift our industry.

Among them, the launch of the impressive 41ft Seawind 1250 at Wollongong Harbour. By all accounts, it's a superb addition to the range and well worth the million dollar investment in new tooling and design.

Then there's a preview of METS 2009 and information on the products short listed for this year's DAME, new Brisbane premises for Yamaha Motor Australia and international recognition and Awards for Navico.

Positive too is the feedback from the 1st Asia Superyacht conference held in Singapore 2 weeks ago, and we have a thorough report on the event, its highlights and outcomes.

Azzura Marine Nowra in southern NSW went into liquidation a couple of weeks ago, but there could be opportunities either locally or for low cost manufacturers further north in the Asia Pacifc.

Keep sending your news in. That large 'Submit News and Pix' button on the top of the first newsline on our site sure gets a work over by saavy marine industry companies. If you are not one of those yet, look and see.

You can reach 18,000 marine industry readers in the Asia Pacifc alone by having your news in our Marine Business-World newsletter.

Can you think of any reason your company is NOT doing that?
