But here's something that brings it home: on 16 July, at the age of 17, Zac Sunderland (USA) became the youngest solo circumnavigator. And now, a little over a month later, Mike Perham (GBR) has taken over the title. If the achievement is recorded by the Guinness Book of Records, then the 'title' will skip straight from Jesse Martin (AUS) to Perham, and miss out Sunderland altogether. Fleeting fame, indeed. Sic transit gloria Monday, roll on the weekend.
