Are you going to Sanctuary Cove?

Well, g'day. Not a very nautical greeting, I know, but I'm sure you get the drift.

It's been quite a week as we face up to the fact that the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is right upon us.

Next week, in fact. If you're into boats, if you own one, are thinking of buying one, well, the short statement is you'd be mad to miss it.

Hard to believe it will be the 21st.....I've taken a look back over the years, having been to all 20 so far. Come tag along for some as I recall some of the fun of the fair over the past 20-years.

We've also outlined a brief preview of what will be on show at the show....would you believe more than 80 Australian and World releases?

It's not all good news, however, and sadly we have to report that Italy's Enrico Vidoli, better known as ‘Chicco', has passed away from injuries received in an F1 race on Lake Lugano. God speed, ‘Chicco'.

On the P1 Powerboat front, there's action galore – don't miss the up to date reports and colleague Jeni Bone informs us that an Australian company may just have discovered a way to harness the power of the tide.

In Wales, the brilliant Honda outboard engine has come to the fore again with victory in the Honda Formula series.

So look at the list below, news and views from all quarters.

Next week, get yourself to Sanctuary Cove hear?

If you see a handsome, and quite dashing young man who looks as though he could be a boating journalist, it won't be me!

On the other hand, if you see an old guy, who looks like he has been to every boat show staged at ‘the Cove', come over and say hello.

Better yet, come over and invite me to join you for a glass of something quite cold.

See you there- it only happens once a year.
