Welcome to Sail-World.Com's USA newsletter for 7 May 2009.
There was another round of Postman's Knock in the America's Cup, over the last 24 hours with the America's Cup Defender taking the liberty of calling a second Mutual Consent Meeting ahead of the New York Supreme Court Hearing on 14 May, in the quite lengthy letter they give their surprising version of the events at that first meeting.
In Italy, a new challenger for the America's Cup also emerged. In this edition we have their Letter of Challenge.
Later, Golden Gate Yacht Club gave them both answers which were short and to the point.
We have reports and commentary on this exchange, ahead of the Court appearance next Thursday.
In Boston, 20008 Olympic Gold medalist, Anna Tunnicliffe has been trying a new form of sailing catch her impressions of the foiling Moth in this issue

A must read in this issue is the feature on CT Sailbattens and C-Tech. This is an amazing story of how a business began from operating on a part-time basis in various garages, moving skiff technology into grand prix racing. C-Tech has now reached the point where they are the dominant supplier in the last America's Cup - supplying to all teams and in the Volvo Ocean race, again to all teams. Now they have moved into the superyacht market developing new technology, and selling unique products. It is a great story of the rise and rise of a small company. If you enjoy being inspired by the achievements of the sailors in the sailing industry, then you'll love the CT Sailbatten story.
