In Asia, the Boracay Race has rolled on (slowly) into the better breezes of the President's Cup, while the VOR fleet grabs as mush easting as possible across the Pacific before the inevitable header south towards their third equator crossing on the way to Cape Horn. Before the race started there was a certain amount of speculation that leaving Australia to port might be the tactical call from Qingdao to Rio, but nobody has elected for that route - just too much of a flyer perhaps.

The Longtze Premiers scored a colourful hit at a breezy and sunny Primo Cup in Monaco - funny how they never look quite so good when we see them in the Hong Kong murk! Now, where did I hide that anti-haze filter..?

Dee Caffari is now the first woman to circumnavigate the globe solo non-stop in BOTH directions - congratulations... but who made that sail - is anyone telling?

Wishing all readers good breeze and sunshine for a sailing weekend.

Musandam passes Cape Horn after 40 days at sea non-stop
Oman Sail media,
Mohsin Al Busaidi on his Round the World Attempt onboard Musandam. As the crew drew close to Cape Horn the sea state changed dramatically and the light winds and waves of the Pacific began to change into the huge rolling waves of the Atlantic.
