Five boats had a chance tin the Sanders Cup on the final day. By the last race it was down to two. Day One of the 2009 Toyota Optimist National Championships featured some great results by the team from Singapore. In race 2 they made a clean sweep coming in first second and third. They all say they like Wellington but it is just a little bit too cold.

The new Reichel-Pugh design Vela Veloce (Richard Oland) , the newest yacht in the fleet was the first monohull home in the 2009 International Paints Auckland Tauranga race. Three crew were rescued from the 9.8 metre catamaran Catabatic, in the Auckland Tauranga race, yesterday afternoon.
