Artemis Racing have confirmed that 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist and 2012 Olympic Silver Medalist in the Star keelboatclass, Andrew 'Bart' Simpson has died in a training incident in San Francisco.
Simpson was pulled from the water after the incident, and CPR was attempted on the water and ashore, but was not successful, and he was pronounced dead. ...[more]

At an international media conference today, America's Cup Events Authority, Stephen Barclay, announced that two inquiries were running into the Artemis incident.
The first is being conducted by the San Francisco Police Department, as is standard practice in any fatality. The SFPD have impounded the boat as part of their accident investigation. ...[more]

He was a leading figure in the development of the Artemis Racing 72-foot wing-sailed catamaran for the upcoming America’s Cup.
