The team at Damen Yachting is pleased to confirm that the keel has been laid for the first Amels 80 in build for delivery in 2025. Another milestone in the build journey for this all-new 80-metre (261 ft) Amels Limited Editions.

The keel laying took place during a ceremony at Damen Yachting's hull building facility in Galati and marks the next phase of her build following the steel cutting earlier this year on May 17th. Amels 8001 is the first yacht in build from the Amels 80 design which was introduced to the industry in March this year.

Amels 8001 will remain in Galati until the end of summer 2023 after which she will be transported to the Amels' headquarters at Damen Yachting's main shipyard in Vlissingen for outfitting. Amels' Product Manager Adriaan Roose has been involved with the Amels 80 development over the last few years.

"Every new yacht challenges us to push the limits of our absolute mastery. Decades of Amels pedigree, experience and knowhow have fed the creation of the Amels 80. To now see the first one from this new design in build and hitting the milestones of her build journey is exciting and something we are all very proud to be a part of."

The Amels 80 features exterior design by Espen diameterino and custom interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture. She can accommodate 14 guests and offers space for 20 crew. This future proof yacht will be built with sustainable materials and leverage the most suitable and innovative hybrid technology today. With her 2,175 Gross Tonnage and featuring the largest top deck in her class as well as an impressive beach club, she offers everything expected from an 80-metre yacht and more.
